Service / Door entry

Intercoms that let you answer the door from anywhere

Audio and video door entry for a single front door or a multi-tenant block, with calls that can forward straight to a mobile phone.

What's included

Audio or video, sized to the building

A single house only needs a basic audio handset. A block of flats, an office reception, or a site with several access points usually needs something that can route calls to the right person, log who buzzed who in, and show a picture of whoever's stood at the door before anyone presses a button.

Video intercoms are increasingly the default for anything other than a single home, simply because seeing who's there before answering is worth more than most people expect once they have it. Calls can also be set to forward to a mobile, so someone working upstairs or away from the desk doesn't miss a delivery or a visitor.

On multi-tenant sites, intercoms are almost always paired with access control so a resident or member of staff can release the door remotely without walking down to do it — see our access control page for how permissions work alongside this.

Good fits for intercoms

  • Family homes wanting to screen visitors
  • Blocks of flats and shared entrances
  • Office receptions and goods entrances
  • Gated sites with a vehicle entrance
  • Buildings wanting calls to forward to mobile
What you get

Door entry that actually gets answered

  • Audio or video.Matched to the building — a video feed is rarely needed on a single back door, but is hard to do without on a shared entrance.
  • Call forwarding to mobile.Answer the door from another floor, the garden, or while you're out, depending on how the system's set up.
  • Multi-tenant routing.Calls go to the right flat or department, not a single shared handset everyone has to listen out for.
  • Remote release.Let someone in without leaving your desk, paired with access control where that's already in place.
  • Built to last outdoors.Weatherproof units fitted properly, not a domestic unit bolted on and hoped for the best.
